Arbitration Fee Schedules
This Fee Schedule applies to all cases administered by CI-MAC in accordance with its Rules. CI-MAC provides parties with two options for calculating administrative and arbitrator fees: an hourly fee schedule or an ad valorem fee schedule. Parties may select different approaches for each type of fee, or they may choose to apply the same approach for both. Within 30 days of the Respondent's receipt of the Notice of Arbitration, the parties must agree on the method for determining administrative expenses and inform CI-MAC of their choice. If the parties fail to agree, the ad valorem schedules will apply for administrative fees and the default found in the Rules will apply for arbitrator's fees.

Arbitrator Fees
Option A: Ad Valorem Schedule
Option B: Hourly Rate
If the parties agree to calculate the tribunal's fees based on an hourly rate, the hourly fees will be calculated based on the work performed by its members in relation to the arbitration. The rates charged will be appropriate to the specific circumstances of the case, taking into account factors such as the complexity and any special qualifications required of the arbitrators. Prior to appointment, the Arbitral Tribunal will agree to the applicable fee rates in writing. CI-MAC will inform the parties of the rates at the time of appointment, but they may be subject to review if the arbitration's duration or circumstances change.
Hourly rates shall not exceed US$750. However, in exceptional circumstances, the rate may exceed the maximum hourly rate after consultation with the arbitrator(s), if all parties expressly agree in writing.
The Tribunal's fees may include a charge for travel time and/or for unused time resulting from a delayed or canceled hearing, provided that the basis for such a charge is communicated in writing and approved by CI-MAC and the parties are notified in advance.
The Tribunal may also recover reasonable expenses related to the arbitration, subject to the submission of invoices or receipts.
The fees of the Tribunal will be invoiced in the currency agreed upon between the parties and the Arbitral Tribunal.
The fee caculated in accordance with the schedules above are the maximum amount payable to each arbitrator, unless the parties have agreed to an alternative method of determining the Tribunal's fees. The above Arbitrator's Fees do not include Value Added Tax or its equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction, as may be applicable.
